The BGA IMechE joint Student Prize 2016 winner is Geoffrey Moore from the University of Southampton for his MEng project: “Mechanical Motion Rectifier – Investigating the potential of a mechanical device for transforming bi-directional rotational motion into uni-directional rotational motion.”
The judging panel commented:
This was complex. There was a very clear of description of objectives and limitations and the end result showed how important it was to get the minor detail exactly right.
This was a potentially unique application to portray, but it was done in a very professional manner.
We will be presenting Geoffrey with his £400 prize at the BGA Spring meeting. on 23rd March and he has been invited to present his paper the the leading gear experts in the UK at Gears 2017 Technical Awareness Seminar in November.
