Agenda: Industrialists Roadmapping Day.

The “Industrialists’ roadmapping event for the future of transmission manufacturing in the UK.” Technical Awareness Day is being held in conjunction with AMRC on 13th February 2020 9.30am – 4pm at AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre in Sheffield. Attendance at this event is free of charge to BGA Members.

Early in our agenda for the day there will be an opportunity to introduce yourselves and your organisation, with a slot for each company/organisation.  There will be a 2 minute time limit to enable us to give each organisation a chance to speak and keep us on track with the agenda.

Based on the results of entries on our survey, we have selected the workshop group themes for the day which will be:

  • Electrification and High Speed Transmissions
  • Transmission Efficiency
  • Lightweighting
  • Smart Manufacture & Smart Transmissions
  • Materials and Surface Conditioning
  • Remanufacture

There will be three sessions to populate different aspects of the roadmap in the context of the above themes.  We will allocate delegates to groups according to the scores you gave on the booking form (or do get in touch if you have preferences for up to three of the six themes, in which case we will allocate you accordingly).

During and after the event we will compile the output from each workshop into a collective roadmap for the UK gear research community, which we hope will steer our collective direction and lead toward collaborative research projects.

With that in mind, we are delighted to have Gareth Deakin from the Advanced Propulsion Centre who will present to us on the types of project funding which may be available and how we should best prepare to access this.
