FORMULA STUDENT UPDATE FROM NEWCASTLE

The BGA are dedicated to helping to bring through the next generation of Engineers in the UK. Our initiatives start with children in primary schools with our STEM package Primary Gears and go all the way up to the joint BGA ImechE Student prize and Formula Student Sponsorship.

Formula Student (FS) is Europe's most established educational engineering competition, which celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2018.

Backed by industry and high-profile engineers such Patron, Ross Brawn OBE, the competition aims to develop enterprising and innovative young engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering.

Each year, Formula Student sees over 100 university teams from around the globe travel to Silverstone to compete in static and dynamic events that will test their preparation and hard work: who will be crowned the winner of Formula Student 2022?

We are proud to be sponsoring BGA Member Newcastle University's Formula Student Team.

If you are a BGA Member and are looking for Formula Team Sponsorship please get in touch.

Update from Stan Moir from the Newcastle Formual Student Team

"The progress is going very well, we have a rolling chassis with 90% of the mechanical components completed.

I have attached a few images of the car in its current state.

The next steps for us are completing the electrical systems as we await the arrival of our high voltage battery, and then we will be taking the car for testing at a local track hopefully in mid-June."
