Virtual Member Focus Session: Dontyne Gears Research Project on Non-Involute Gear Testing with BGA

In 2024, the British Gear Association (BGA) were excited to fund a Research Project on “Non-Involute Gear Testing.” This initiative, launched by BGA member Dontyne Gears, attracted considerable attention when presented at the GEARS 2024 conference. Feedback from delegates showed there was desire for a deeper exploration of the project and results.

As such we have worked with Dontyne Gears to bring you a Virtual Member Focus Session on March 19, 2025, from 14:00 to 15:00 to expand upon the results of the project.

Led by Mike Fish from Dontyne Gears, this session will provide an in-depth look into the research timeline, key findings, and future plans, making it a valuable event for industry professionals and gear enthusiasts alike.

Session will include:

  • Overview of Non-Involute Gears

  • Design and Analysis

  • Manufacturing Techniques

  • Testing and Results

This event is not only informative but also provides a platform for attendees to ask questions and engage in meaningful dialogue regarding the project. You can find out how easy it is to apply for BGA Research Funding, learn about designing research projects with tax relief opportunities in mind too. Be part of a discussion that could transform the landscape of gear design and application.

Registration for the Virtual Member Focus Session is free and now open.

We look forward to seeing you there!
